About From Here On

Within Chicago's Old Post Office Building, From Here On aspires to create a fast-casual marketplace that best exemplifies the city's West Loop neighborhood. It is an all-local market representing the city's history and future in the culinary and artistic realm!

Located at 433 W Van Buren St, Chicago, IL 60607, From Here On operates as a food court serving Chicago in Illinois. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as market, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Quick-bite Asian spots, food courts and asian fast-food counters are built for speed: order at the counter, pay up front, and food usually comes out within a few minutes. Combo meals with a main, a side and a drink are common and generally the best value. Food courts and food halls group several counters under one roof and let you mix orders from different vendors at shared seating, which is useful for groups with different cravings. Noodle shops and dumpling counters often sell by the dozen or by weight rather than as fixed plates, so check the board before ordering. Most of these spots take cards and mobile pay, and tipping is optional at counter service, though a jar for the staff is common.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. Typical hours are 7 am–8 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Surprisingly, there wasn't any obvious signage on the outside or upon entering the building that there was a food hall or where it was located. However entering from the north and proceeding down the large center you quickly come to the vendors. I had a delicious sun butter berry smoothie from Fare and a very tasty bowl from Babygold BBQ. I ordered cauliflower over beans and rice, with a side of Mac and cheese and pickled vegetables, and had two kinds of BBQ sauce drizxled over the entire thing. Seems to be plenty of dining choices for a variety of different tastes, moods, or dietary restrictions.

Food hall with wide array of choices - from street tacos to NYC-style pizza (yes, even Chicagoans need their fix once in a while). Tacos were especially delicious, made from scratch right in front of you with a ton of flavor. Large slice of pizza was delish too but also uber expensive ($7!?) and served by unenthusiastic, unfriendly employees. Overall, a well laid out food court with something for everyone in the stunningly renovated Old Post Office.

If you’re taking the Amtrak, stop here first! Great food choices, clean restrooms, cool environment, no crowds, and a nice Walgreens. (Union Station is disgusting)

This is an authentic Mexican restaurant. It's located inside the Old Post Office, walk right on in. The only downside here is the expensive cost. The food was excellent, and if it's a good day, fancy eating outside.

Elegant building interior and a nice array of food choices. Menu ranges from breakfast/brunch to lunch, dinner and cocktails.
